HOSPER has been selected by the municipality of Leidschendam-Voorburg to design the main structure for the landscape of Vlietvoorde.
Vlietvoorde is a development in the Duivenvoorde Corridor. Here, the landscape and recreational qualities will be enhanced and houses will be fitted on the location of former greenhouses. The basis for the future main structure is formed by the scenic discoloration from the shoreline to the peat-meadow landscape and by the rich cultural history. The proposition comprises of a combination of open and closed spaces: open meadows along the water between the shoreline and the Vliet and dense strips of coppice framing the future residential areas. Special elements such as bridges, recreational spaces and cultural 'treasures' provide an enrichment of the main structure.
