Maasvlakte 2 Rijksinspectie Terminal

The National Inspection Terminal (RIT) was officially put into operation on April 11th 2018. The state secretary of finance, Menno Snel, performed the opening act.

In the new National Inspection Terminal, the Tax and Customs Administration and Customs work closely together with the Human Environment and Transport Inspectorate and the Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority. A unique Practice Training Center has also been realized for inspectors, customs officers and detection dogs. The buildings were designed by cepezed, the site by HOSPER. By moving the entrances and scanners and through a rigorous reorganization of the site, the flow of goods and associated inspection work now take place via self-evident routes and with minimal traffic movements.
